Classic Albums Live brings you one of the greatest and most influential albums of progressive rock and the pinnacle of seventies psychedelia, the megalith that is Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The album will be performed in its entirety live on stage by a host of talented musicians, cutting the gimmicks and tricks with a focus on recreating it note for note, no fake English accents here folks!
Released in 1973 following the departure of founding member Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd developed the album during shows, imbuing their songs with an astoundingly fluid jam-like quality that turned the traditional pop-structure on its head. With songs like Time, The Great Gig in The Sky and Money, their eighth studio album was an immediate success, remaining in the charts for 741 weeks and selling fifty million copies to date.
