EXCELLENT

I waited almost 20 years to see them I wanted to I just couldn’t and it was amazing. 18 songs plus a 5 song encore. Band songs venue all spectacular.

MODEST MOUSE ROCKS!

I have been a fan of the mouse for 15 years and seen them many times, I brought my daughter to this event and we loved the show, modest mouse knows how to rock and never disappoint. I thought the song selection was fantastic pulling from all their albums.

CONFUSED ABOUT THE COMMUNAL HATRED?

Had a wonderful time in Tulsa. I wish they’d played more B-sides, but it was a really enjoyable show. Trucker’s Atlas was a very pleasant surprise, as was Perfect Disguise. The only bad part about the show was some jack-wagon “frat bro” in front of me that kept making fun of the second percussionist and making whooping noises. Audience felt involved, and the quiet parts of the concert felt special.

AWESOME SHOW

Awesome show at 20 Monroe live. Sound was fantastic and Modest Mouse was amazing. Beer was good too. So glad I went.

FUN MM SHOW!

We had a lot fun!! Good mix of songs. It was hard to hear him at some points but not bad.

ADD AT THE PALACE

Like everyone else here said, the sound was terrible. All I could hear was the bass really all else was a mush. Song selection was great, yet frustrated I could barely hear it. I have to say Brock seemed to rush through the songs. Maybe that was a head space thing, digestive troubles, no idea. Not going to assume anything. I have not seen MM in over 10 years, but Brock brought a lot more energy to those earlier performances. Cowboy Dan without that anger just didn’t seem quite right. I think Trailer Trash was one of the more successful songs of the night as far as the band feeling present for it. Perhaps the crowd was too. I will say the crowd vibe was definitely off. People seemed more interested in talking loud amongst themselves, selfies, texting, getting up and milling about. It was like everyone had ADD. Weirdest show I have been to in that regard. So in some ways, I can see why he would want to rush through it.

TERRIBLE SHOW

This was truly a pathetic show. No energy. Sound was messed up. Literally could not understand one word. No encore. None of the best songs. Truly a waste of time and a money grab by this band....

SOUNDED TERRIBLE

I don't know if it was the venue or the band but both modest mouse and the opening band sounded absolutely awful. Painful electric hum drowned out all the music and you couldn't understand any vocals over the feedback from the system. really disappointed. My date was having a good time so I ignored it, but I'd have left a couple songs in otherwise. Sad to say this was the worst concert I've ever seen.

DISAPPOINTING

The sound was awful, and the band looked like they really didn't want to be there. I was disappointed.

OMG... SO BAD!

I have been a huge fan since the early 2000's... Got tickets the minute they were on sale, got third row seats and could not wait to see them! I was bringing my Son, My daughter and son in law were all going! It was going to be an awesome experience! Not to be! The audio was not understandable, The sound distorted, the song selection was terrible! They had to take a break to try and fix things and that did not work, They came back out... finished a couple songs, then left, they made it seem like an encore was coming, but they just didn't bother to come out again. Just collected the Concert Money and left! I even noticed small things that were bothering... Not tuning a guitar until before a song... He is up there and taking time between songs to tune while everyone waits... The flow and show all sucked... I had waited 20 years to see them and wish I never went!

BAD, BAD, BAD SHOW

Warning: Don't waste your money! I love MM, but the Albany, NY show was horrible. From the other reviews, it sounds like it's the same at every venue. Couldn't make out a word they said, but generally, there was no audience involvement at all. They just stood there and played their songs, some of which I could barely recognize. About 3/4 through, they left the stage so the techs could fix an audio problem. 20 minutes later, they came back, played a few more songs and then just quit. No real encore, unless that was it, and no buildup to a grand finish like good performers do. Also, how do they not even play Float On, their biggest hit? I still love their studio produced output, but this is one band that should never be seen live.

PAINFUL ENDING

So, all the bad reviews before this are correct. Was the worst sounding show I have ever been to. The one point I will add is that they waited forever for the encore. After sitting through horrible accustics, and then to make us wait?! If you don’t want to play more because people aren’t cheering enough and are leaving... just turn on the lights and let us go home. After waiting forever, we just ended up leaving... not sure if they ever played the anchor... don’t care.

SO DISAPPOINTED

I’ve been a modest mouse fan for almost 15 years and I was so pumped to go see them. That said, the concert was awful. The techs knew something wasn’t right: they set up for almost 45 minutes after the openers. The audio was atrocious. We could understand NOTHING. I thought I had just messed up hearing, but everyone around me was in agreement. Not sure if it was their own techs our Foelinger’s, but it was TERRIBLE audio. And they played for like an hour. Disappointing. I went home and turned on my iPhone playlist and rocked out instead. Still love them. Just with less money, now. We went to Steve Miller last year and sounded great, which made me think it was not Foelinger’s fault. I’d still recommend a concert there. SUCH a cool venue.

TERRIBLE SOUND

Even counting my days as a raver going to parties in abandoned buildings in the 1990s, this was the worst sound I have ever experienced in any venue irrespective of size or scope. Tickets cost $75-$100 for two hours of sonic mud. Complete waste of time, money and effort for all involved.

WORST SHOW EVER

Saw MM in rogers AR, the sound wad terrible, couldn't make out any words, even when he was talking between songs. Drums were so heavy it drowned out everything else, couldn't even make out what song they were playing most of the time. They had technical difficulties and had to start over on a couple of songs. A waste of money to see a band I really like.

MISSED THE BOAT

I've been a fan of Modest Mouse and their indie rock music for almost 10 years. Anticipating their smart lyrics and energetic songs, I'd give 5 stars for anticipation - I was excited for this concert in Milwaukee. When the opening band Mass Gothic started playing bass-heavy brooding punk, it became clear this was not the concert I was expecting. From the first Modest Mouse song to the last, the sound quality and balance was terrible. Twice they chose to address their sold-out audience between songs, and no one could understand him. Chants of "turn up the microphone" sounded through the crowd. The MM fans who came to bang their head to harder alternative rock were satisfied. Us fans of the moderate indie rock songs like "The World at Large", "Missed the Boat" and "Float On" that helped earn their widespread success were not awknowledged. Every song had a harder edge which made the entire setlist sound similar. The nearly 2.5 hour concert drug on. We loved Milwaukee, but not the show

WORST SHOW IN 28 YRS OF CONCERTS

Been going to concerts for 28 years and this was definitely the worst show I've ever seen -- terrible sound, terrible engagement by the band. A real shame -- I've seen Modest Mouse before and they were great. This venue also has potential to be awesome. Not a great way to get back to live music after all we've been through the last 18 months.

REFUNDS SHOULD BE GIVEN

Saw modest mouse at red rocks last night There is nothing this venue or any sound crew could do or not do, to make this venue less than EXQUISITE I’ve never been more disappointed in a band Not only was their stage presence, song selection and engagement absolutely HORRIFIC But the first time the lead singer decided to say something it was to suggest people in the cheaper sections pay more for beer Modest mouse is the definition of ungrateful assholes and as a music lover I deeply regret giving them a cent I’ve deleted their music from my playlists and encourage all to think twice before supporting this band After what we’ve all been through-come in with a spirit of gratitude, openness, fun and love You suck modest mouse

1.0 star rating Carl from Denver, Colorado

MIND BLOWINGLY TERRIBLE!

I genuinely feel refunds should be issued for this show. They started late, the sound was blaring out totally unbalanced and somehow traveled in a circular pattern like a siren throughout the ENTIRE evening. It was impossibly bad and I am gutted to have spent so much on four tickets.
