I am both fortunate and spoiled.Opening night back in 79 with Patti and Mandy headingup a great cast. The magic came together that evening and the house came down. The show is absolutly wonderful(depending of course on who is up there).Attended the revival on Broadway last year but that's another story. If you have never experienced EVITA,give yourself an adventure and enjoy.

A NEW AND IMPROVED "EVITA".
Die hard Evita fans and first time Evita fans will love it
a new and improved Evita for 2013. The cast is superb
a lot more dance numbers a new song, different
orchestration tweeked here and there .I have seen
Evita over a dozen times and this new and improved
version is absolutely brilliant..not to mention Che is not
dressed in his Fidel Castro garb and no cigars.

EVITA = STAR POWER
Do not miss this show! The 3 stars; Josh Young, Caroline Bowman
and Sear MacLaughlin are all fantastic. They are gorgeous to look
at, can all sing & dance, and they alone are worth the price of
admission. However the rest of the cast is about the same. Young
good looking and all a triple threat. If you have never seen it go. If
you loved the original you will love this!

EVITA STANDS FOR STAR POWER
New or old fans of this show will be impressed with this high-
octaine mounting. Darker and more edgy than the original. The
three stars, Caroline Bowman, Josh Young & Sean MacLaughlin
are more than a touch of star quality. Young is incandescent as
Che with a voice that could sing real opera. Darkly handsome
and loaded with charisma he owns the stage. Bowman looks
beautiful in the costumes, with a strongly dramatic voice, and
when blonde, resembles Evita. Sean MacLaughlin another
commanding, masculine presence both vocally and visually.
Entire cast, triple threat....I saw it four times in Los Angeles
Do not miss this show!

EVITA WAS WORTH GOING
All the good things other have said are all valid and I agree with most of them. My only critical comment is the part of Evita was a little too much for lead actress Caroline Bowman. Her voice was just a gasp when she had to sing while dancing, She did a much better job in the second half of the show. Josh Young as Chi was absolutely fantastic. The show is worth going to, but a stronger lead voice was expected.

EVITA FANS WILL LOVE THIS PRODUCTION
This production has really great stage design, and
cleverly used minimalist sets.
The whole night was entertaining.
However I felt that the principal lead performer
(Caroline Bowman) this evening was a bit on the
screechy if not out right screaming side, rather
than musical, particularly in the first act. She
did shine in the slower songs ("You Must love
me").
Josh Young as Che was simply stellar. His
performance ties everything together.
A note on Krystina Alabado (playing the first
Peron Mistress): lovely tone of voice and well
played vulnerability.
The entire company cleverly incorporates Argentine
Tango into many scenes.
Bravo!

BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE, HORRIBLE VENUE
I attended the show on Sunday. When I arrived with my mother and sister we found our seats had been oversold. I tried resolving the issue with the manager at the box office but was unsuccessful & told to have an usher help us. Nothing was being done & the performance was about to begin. I decided to split the family & take the only seats left, the front row. I had purchased the second row seats where the view was phenomenal. In the first row the view was partially blocked from the orchestra cover board. My mother not being a tall woman, had to sit on two of our coats and her purse to see the stage. And I on my legs.
I will not be returning to this venue & I would NOT recommend this venue. Apparently it doesn't matter if you buy your tickets in advance. I was told I would be contacted by management & three days later, I have not heard from anyone.
The show was amazing! Beautiful voices, wonderful dancers and a great stage set up. The performance deserves 5+Stars. Just not at this venue

OVER THE TOP
There is very little rest for the eyes or ears throughout this performance. It was just too much of everything except meaningful content.

DARK PRODUCTION
My wife and I have seen the movie several times and we both enjoy the music. However, the staging, lighting and production at the Majestic Theater lleft us feeling depressed and wanting our money refunded!
