Neither rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these rockers from rocking!

Opening Act Loverboy cancelled, but Sammy waited out the rough weather and took the stage for an extremely solid set of tunes covering 50 years of rock. Jason Bonham brought his own hard hitting sound to classic tunes, Michael Anthony again demonstrated that he was the unsung backbone and harmony of Van Halen, even taking -- and nailing -- lead vocals on Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love. Joe Satriani is a virtuoso and did justice to EVH on leads and rhythm, throwing in a solo of Satch Boogie, and new addition of multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte on keyboards and occasional guitar was a welcome addition, eliminating recorded keys and keeping t he energy high. The sound was good, though the venue does not have great acoustics. Sammy's voice was strong and clear and his energy and interaction with the crowd was excellent. They seemed to be having a great time and the feeling was infectious. If you get the chance, go see these rockers while you still can. ... Read more

Great show

Loverboy opened the evening with a tremendous journey down memory lane. They can still rock the joint out. Sammy and company were absolutely brilliant. They were tight, sounded awesome, got the place up and singing along the whole show. Great venue with good sound. Sammy, Michael, Joe and Jason are true hardcore performers. Joe isn’t Eddie but is a totally brilliant guitarist in his own right. Thank you guys for a memorable evening. ... Read more
